Olive
Bio
Olive works with ceremonial and nature-based practices including interspecies communication, grief tending, dance, and meditation. She has been deepening her work with women’s circles and with young people in recent years and is currently training in biodynamic craniosacral therapy and voice therapy. Nourished by a family of human and beyond-human beings, she feels deeply inspired and connected to the medicine of grief tending in community. Some of her primary teachers for this work include Sophy Banks, Jeremy Thres, and Dita Visozo.
Grief as Love
We offer this space to come together and tend our grief in community. A gentle introduction to welcoming our grief and what it means to flow between being witnessed and supported in our grief, and supporting others in their grief.
We will begin with building the group container and support through practices connecting us to gratitude and resources. Then we will briefly explore the ‘gateways of grief’ before moving into evoking and expressing grief (sharing and witnessing in smaller groups). We end with soothing (song and guided relaxation) and integration to reconnect with resources and close together.
We will co-create this tender space to encounter the precious practice of meeting our grief and inviting flow, recognising this as life-affirming and earth-honouring medicine.
“Olive holds space with true love and tenderness, her heart is so beautifully present greeting each being joining the space. She brings devotion to this work, to see and hold others, gifting a sense of freedom through her honesty and inspiration. With softness and strength we join and sing. I am filled with huge gratitude and pride to have sat in circle, led by Olive!”
“Olive holds your hand with grace and resilience dancing in the rain. A path to liberation with humour and sorrow and joy and wildness. She will hold you in your most raw form and celebrate you, inviting you to meet yourself, release what happened to you and welcome presence as you are.”
Silly Summer
Blossom in the summer sun through silly games, frivolity and plenty of fun! We’ll be making time to play to welcome a sense of freedom and joy. We’ll be exploring playful embodiment practices, vocal expression and nature connection. There is also the gentle invitation to encounter any resistances we may have around play and silliness. There will be a mixture of fun group games, paired exercises, and reflective practices to open and invite curiosity around what is possible through authentic and creative play.
“The play workshop with Olive and Jazz was not only incredibly fun but also gave me very interesting deep insights into myself. A bonus I never expected.”
“There was a fluidity and safety that they brought to the group that helped us become freer in ourselves to truly PLAY. They engaged everyone and took on all our ideas which brought a lovely collaborative feel to the group. There were tears and laughter a go go. I highly recommend jumping in a giving it a go.”
