Anne Musisi

My name is Anne, I am an Award Winning Director, Acting Coach & Wellbeing Facilitator. I have created a holistic teaching practice inspired by psycho-physical principles in acting practice that allow creatives to tap into their bodies memory to ignite and engage in emotional expressivity in ways that are safe and can be channeled to use in performance. I love exploring free movement, exercising the imagination through meditation and music to encourage relaxation, receptivity and play. Last summer, I was a part of a team curated by psychotherapist, Hugo Metcalfe, that facilitated workshops at The Chalice (intimacy) space for Medicine Festival. I led ‘Total Abandon’ which facilitated a safe space for people to release tension and inhibition by embracing free movement. I also led ‘Primal Connections’, which provided a safe space for people to surrender to the instinctive impulses of their wise animal body with the aim of dropping into a non-verbal realm of deep presence to sense their way into connection with others. I have also previously worked on set as a Wellbeing Facilitator for the Dr.Martens ‘Made Strong’ campaign where I had the opportunity to be available to support artists navigate their experience on set.

Gestures & Feelings

Creating embodied representations of how each emotional state shows up for you personally.

Participants explore physicalising emotional states with their body. They will also explore how their newly discovered movements change when working with a partner. They will then share their discoveries with the group.

Happy Place

Exercising the Imagination to find joy within the body.

Participants are led through a guided meditation that encourages them to explore a world they build in their mind. It begins with them walking around the space, making eye contact with the people they meet and observing their energy and their partners response. After the meditation, they will then describe the image and explore why they think they imagined it. They will then explore the space and interacting with others in the emotional state they accessed in their ‘happy place’ and discuss how it impacted or changed any interactions they’ve had before.
