SCREEN ALCHEMY; A CALL TO ADVENTURE! NAVIGATING LIFE TRANSITIONS USING THE POWER OF MOVIES.

In this workshop, through mindful film watching, discussions, writing and reflections, we will review the process of transitions and deepen our understanding of the art and science of personal mastery, flourishing and radical transformation of self. Using the lens of contemplative wisdom, neuroscience, philosophy, psychology, medicine and spirituality, this interactive and highly experiential workshop will enable you to learn to find balance and act courageously in your personal calling.

Transition and change happen over and over again in the course of our personal and professional lives, unfolding the landscapes of change but rarely do we allow ourselves to pause and focus on what is changing and how to navigate better. The path of self-transformation and re-invention is not clearly laid before us, but we can identify our strengths and resources, explore our emerging vision, capabilities and limits and discover the steps to navigate new pathways.

The use of movies for personal growth and healing comes from a long-standing connection between story telling – ‘ the Hero’s journey’ – and self-reflection dating back to the beginnings of spoken language. Many stories also contain a mythic dimension which can strongly affect and catalyse transformational process.
