The Work that Reconnects 🧘🏽♂️ Geo & Ben Ben
We choose life every day..
We are guided and strengthened by the wind.
We seek out the sun, so that the light can light feed us.
Moon finds us in the womb of the Earth and calls us to release Our suffering so that we might breathe new life into the super-organism that We are a part of.
The Work that Reconnects helps people discover and experience their innate connections with each other and the self-healing powers of the web of life, transforming despair and overwhelm into inspired, collaborative action. Based on the teachings of Joanna Macy, it is composed of a progressive spiral of enquiries: Gratitude, Honouring Our Pain for the World, Seeing with New/Ancient Eyes and Going Forth. Joanna Macy is an environmental activist, author, scholar of Buddhism, general systems theory, and deep ecology. She is the author of twelve books.
The Work That Reconnects (WTR) washes us with the opportunity to identify with and be present with our deep love for the world. It gives us voice and celebrates our senses so that we can commit to recognising ourselves as one with the deep ecology of all things.

Geo is studying for an MSc in Sustainable Food and Natural Resources and now cares for a pocket of land as a newbie farmer. Geo is a singer and writer, and will be performing at Medicine Festival in a 5-piece band named ‘Geo’. The set is a story of our innocence, limitless passion, and a recognition of our unavoidable limitations, set to be overcome. It is told through the eyes of a young girl, who symbolises the child in all of us as she communes with the elements in a journey through the choices that we make as a species. This sings to and for Joanna Macy’s Work That Reconnects, it is an interpretation of the process of honouring our pain for the world, inviting us to reflect, vision forward and adapt.
Wider Horizons, BenBen and Joanna Macy’s offerings to the world have been truly transformative for Geo. Though the ebbs and flows have been tumultuous; remembering each day to choose life; remembering to be grateful just for the air, feels she can find her way. We hope you can join us and share in the beauty of what this work provides.
